About the event
This musical rendition of Sangam poetry invites us to immerse in the inner landscape of herders and shepherds, echoing their love and life across the Mullai forests and Pallai semi-arid lands of the Deccan.
A Mangai is a distinguished Chennai-based scholar, theatre practitioner, and director of the Marappachi group. Known for her contributions to Tamil theatre and gender studies, she has authored Acting Up: On Gender and Theatre in India from 1979 and taught at various institutions across the country.
Bindhumalini is an acclaimed Indian singer, composer, and graphic designer, renowned for her powerful vocals in Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada cinema. A recipient of the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer (2018) and the Filmfare Award (2019), she has made significant contributions to music in both film and independent albums.
