About the event

This curated performance will carry listeners into the intimate world of women pastoralists who sing and pour their hearts to the grinding stone because it knows how to hold their secrets!

Shilpa Mudbi is an Indian researcher, singer, performer, theatre artist, actress, and documentary filmmaker, dedicated to preserving and archiving Karnataka’s diverse folk-art forms. She has, for the first time, curated a range of pastoral songs from North Karnataka for Living Lightly which she will perform and also share through a music installation in the exhibition.
